Wu Bai and China Blue (Live in Singapore)

All the way since 1998, when I was 10 years old. Not much about music I know, not much about singers or bands that I know around except those hot ones during those days. But I am pretty much attracted to this very one guy.

He is Wu Bai and China Blue...

I am a banana (Chinese that know nothing about Chinese characters). The most that I can write is my very own name. Pretty much that is it. Nothing else, yaa, I can play mahjong, I can also play Chinese chess but all those I recognize them like how I recognize pictures, for example, when you see a spotted, long neck animal, you know that is a giraffe. Yes, pretty much it is like that.

But since 1998, Wu Bai's music had been played over and over again at my cousin's place, the bunch of people that I grew up with (my aunt is my nanny). His music, his band, his energy, really grows within me, although up till now, some I still not very sure what is he singing about, but yaaa..he still let goosebumps grow on me like no one's business. And ever since I learn about, singer do come down and perform live for their fans, I am like, one day, I SWEAR I AM GONNA SEE HIM LIVE!

Well, of course ticket ain't cheap for a kid, double the price because no concert come to Sarawak (a lil sad case), so we have to fly to see one particular concert. So until when I am 26 years old...I finally heard that he is coming down to Singapore to perform. Coincidently with all the emcee jobs that lined up for me, his concert ticket plus flight and expenses at Singapore become my disposal income. Hence, let's FLY!

The official poster of his tour, the best part...his line up songs are all his golden classic, meaning to say, all the way since 1998 which is when I started listening to his music! ROCK ON!

I did not capture the entire journey from Kuching, but as for me, it was really history...some memories for me which will never fades, never erased from my mind. During his performance, all I remember was just we (me and Irving) singing all the way from beginning till end (literally!) and the one picture I captured...

But for you Wu Bai fans out there, here...

The Ruins of Songs

In few many recent years, we had been exposed to many source of 'links'. Why would I say so, from Friendster, we know what people around us, those we know and also those we do not know. That is that.

Slowly after that, we have Facebook, where we learn more about people. Where they live, what they like, music that they listen to, books that they read, movies that they watched and so on... (more or less for Twitter)

Pretty much about the same time, 9gag came about, and we learn many other things through picture, good thing is, of people that we do not know (pretty much completely)

Opinions, life, interest, funny, touching and sometimes naughty pictures been posted in the very recent years 9gag (as compare to the original ones, for those real 9gaggers)

And as for today, I bring up...MUSIC

But please, do not say anything or have any thoughts before finish reading the entire post. Writer here are not mentioning about the entire world's music, of course there are some artist producing good music stills but am talking about in general HITS SONGS. We are again, back to the festive season that we all had been waiting for all year long. For the past 300 over days, we all had worked hard. Going through bosses bad moods, clients fussy request, family small issues, friends crazy stress and many more. But we are now at a more happy mood time, yes, there are some companies that this is the time when it gets craziest, but well, yes, do take time to have some rest and think back of what your wish was last year and achievements that you had done for the past 300 over days.

That would last for an hour or two probably, then all gather in front of the television and have some small chats, that would maybe last for an hour or two as well, and when it's around 9-ish 10. many would have said, "I'm a lil' tired now...I think I'm gonna rest". But you are not tired just yet, energy is still filling up your entire body, what do you do?! Well, this might sounds heroic, but let's put on your mask...

Yes, don't be fooled by that young innocent look, she can spin! Shaped and trained by an established, also local talent, DJ Biggs. She took up music as young as the age of 8 by learning piano and cello, in proceeding, she took lessons in DJ-ing, she loves her own music, she produce her own songs with her peers and she took out at least an hour from her hectic schedule in a day, just for music, now that is COMMITMENT! She might be young, but when she is on her deck, she could be a beast with her music, so why not drop by and have a listen on what she is going to present you!

Too Phat.

When they first came in gloriously in Malaysian's hip hop listeners, Too Phat used to be one of the most respected duo in the Malaysia's music industry. Too Phat consist of two young boys, Joe Flizzow (borned Johan Ishak from Johor Bahru) and Malique Ibrahim (Kuala Lumpur)

Winning many awards such as Best Engineered Album, Best English Song and so on, Too Phat was really flying high at those days.

Those list can go on but it is already in the wikipedia, but the purpose of writing this post was to express how much I miss listening to these two putting rhymes together and rapping it out producing good music.

Literally, deep down, part of me died during 2007 when Too Phat announce their solo pathways, Malique getting married and will have a different life and Joe carries on the legacy with Kartel records. It would be great if I could see these two again, but never will it be, when only YouTube cures me.

So yea, the song behind it was damn catchy for many, well at least for me! So I went on the net to search, who is the real guy behind the original song, but the problem is, all I heard on that particular video was a guy go, "yeyeyeye, lalalalala". So what to search? What to type in the search box? Well, the internet is wonderful, I just type, "yeyeyeye" on YouTube, amazingly, this is what showed up.

Apparently I also found that, one of my favorite Chinese song also entitled "YeYeYeYe" but I know that song, so I scrolled down a lil' bit, there I saw, weird Russian singing with Lyrics right? So I clicked, and...

So guys, meet Eduard Khil, a singer from Russia, active years 1955 till the year he passed away at 77 years old, which is the year 2012, he was famous, for he is first one to come out with the trololo which is a famous line for meme! He won many prizes in Russia, all way before meme was even on people's mind, or maybe even before the inventor were born. Brilliant duo from New Jersey, in the matter of fact, they are identical twins, I present you, Helena and Maria Mehalis. As I was browsing the internet on Bruno Mars new songs, When I was Your Man, I came across this duo and decided to play it...

Strumming from paradise: Sungha Jung

First of all, I would like to sincerely send my apologies to many parties for the late post. But any how, this is the only way I can pay the favors that you guys had given me. Anyhow, drop those, let's see what I had been put through. 

Never I could imagine, listen to this guy:

That video was posted up couple of years ago. When he is still a young teen and starting slowly to build his music career. Many then knew him by then, the Korean boy who's smaller than his guitar, fingers so small but his skill made his guitar 'sings'.

In 2012, he, Sungha Jung was brought to Malaysia, thanks to TruEvents, in-collaboration with IMH (international music house) and driven by Ismaco Automotive S/B. These wonderful people had brought the wonderful boy and of course his awesome skill with his guitar.

He is no common k-pop celebrity, he ain't got the awesome look like most of them do (as you can see) but his talent...he far off a lot more, better than some and when he plays, he brings you into his world, of passion living and dancing with his guitar. His strumming and arrangement seems to be like a dope, making his fans high and feels like floating.

He is not any normal teenage boy, his talent in music is beyond capability of many musicians and some who claimed themselves as musician. Sungha's capability is really far off then many can only imagine.

During that wonderful night, Sungha take us into his world full of beautiful strumming of his guitar strings, he played some nice songs such as payphone, somebody that I used to know, the whole supermario theme songs, his own arrangement such as nostalgia, irony, sorry and some of the Japanese animations' theme songs and definitely one of his and PSY's hit song, Gangnam Style which both himself and the whole crowd enjoy it. He blew off the roof of Pullman that night.

Sungha was the main event that night, again, thanks to TruEvents, in-collaboration with International Music House, Ismaco Automotive S/B, not forgetting, technology partner, core system and also their official printer, Lee Ming Press S/B. 

But I also wanna bow to people who appear and entertain the crowd before Sungha, which is the International Music House

And the Malaysian youngest Mentalist, Chris Cheong

It's overall a really nice event and for myself, Sungha is really not talented, he is gifted. Send direct from God's music box. :)

Oktoberfest in Malaysia?!

Many had questioned, how grand is Oktoberfest in Malaysia? How happening is Oktoberfest in Malaysia? Well people, if you have yet to attend any of Oktoberfest activities in Malaysia, you are missing quite a lot, I would say!

But how about it Kuching? People always mentioned, activities in West Malaysia had been a killer, and there is nothing much in Kuching or the East Malaysia, but people,  either make it happen or complain it never happen. Your choice! 

For this year, lucky us, Event Horizon is putting up activities! Ngehehehe, wanna know what is happening? Click on their facebook page! They are gonna put up some nice activities in BRIGHTON SQUARE! Google map it if you don't know where to head. Alright...activities definitely gonna involve drinking, what is Oktoberfest without drinking right?

Kuching is ON FIEEYAAHH!!! (fire)

Last night it was a night that I would definitely tell my friends in 50 years to come, telling them about how exciting things were like when I am in my earlier 20-ies. Telling them how people had complained about Kuching had not much going on, the town is boring and things, because on 13 of October, Elevate had bring some party spirit into the town and light it on! and...we were the lucky ones.

To get an invitation to party the VIP style is not like something which happen daily. Packed with camera and all the excitement, we went into the party...the next thing I know, its SMILES that last until the very next morning, because when we went out for brunch, we sat for more than 4 hours talking about how awesome is the party a night before.

Although there is only two act for that night, which is the International, *one of the most sexy one too!* DJ, Juicy M and our national pride, Elecoldxhot, one of the best dance crew! But, these people had put in more than effort to satisfied our entertainment hunger! So...here are some pictures of them!

Elecoldxhot shows us the sick movement in dance, I bet there are some local dance crew on the floor as well, checking out their moves and stuff and I even heard friends telling me that, they are looking forward to watch Elecoldxhot to perform, and ah-uh, they get to see it that night!

Although tired and sweaty, he still can put on a cheeky smile for the camera!

Now guys, look at this picture, if you are not there, you missed out two big things, the gorgeousness of the DJ and her skills on the deck! Now who says girl can't play good music on the deck, and at the same time, being pretty? 

When the dance crew came out with their stylish clothing, the crowds literally went crazy, everyone was shouting and all the girls, woman *yea, there are some slightly old woman* screamed, really on top of their lungs. And when DJ Juicy M started to play, all the guys did not scream, nope, because they are busy with their phones, camera, digi-cam and every single thing that they can find to capture a nice photo of the DJ as memories, they even leave their partner behind! :P
