5 fears after Chinese New Year

First of all, I would like to wish all a Happy Chinese New Year, hope you guys have a great year of the Monkey by far, may health and wealth be good to you this year! But yea, the celebration is over, Chap Goh Mei has also passed.

So, what is the fear after Chinese New Year? Let's see

1. Fear of work

This year is even worse, why? Cause first and second day of Chinese New Year fall on Monday and Tuesday, so majority of Chinese took leaves or even granted holiday by employer for the entire week, WONDERFUL! But the not so great part was, after that one joyful and all laughter week, it is back to face the reality, that's when the fear kicks in, hard!

2. Fear of the weighing scale

We all, as Malaysian know that festive season is all about food, and also being Malaysian, food never fails us. Some of us, going back to where home really is, makes this particular fear even more, why? Cause mom/best chef in the world makes all the cholesterol booming food just to celebrate the return of the long lost kid(s) *not really about Chinese New Year anymore*. So all hell to the gym, eating healthy and stuff, it matters no more when all the great food is waiting for you to munch, ENTIRE WEEK!

3. Fear of lacking of energy

Many says, festival season is all about getting rest and recharge. But when it is during the festival time, when some old friends are around, chit-chatting, gambling, hanging out until wee hours are pretty common, which you don't get to do that often (for some kaki lepak, this time around it become even worse). So you don't really get to rest and recharge, and somehow I felt that as if we are borrowing energy from the future, so once the holiday comes to an end, that is when we are doing the payback, every damn day, energy level started from zero, GOSH!

4. Fear of eating habit

This is kinda link to the other fear. Once you have already gained weight with all the good food, entire week...going back to your normal diet, its very near to MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Although some of us still get to go home and eat, or cook by yourself (home made food), but I do believe many of us, as working young adults, we eat out a lot more, and how are you gonna compare MSG flooded fast food with your mom home made sweet and filled with love pork leg? Hence, we take time to fall back to the normal eating habit that we normally pays extra, complained but still eat.

5. Fear of leftover junk food

This is more to personal fear, I somehow fear the leftover junk food/soft drinks/whatever is leftover but it is far from eating healthy. You want to give it to people, but you do not want to be look at someone that has no heart *which only giveaway leftovers*. You wanna eat it all, but the other fear keep bothering you. So what do you do? I took the entire year to finish, that is why I started buying snacks that goes well with beer/alcohol, cause every happy hour session, I bring my own snacks, I am smart like that!

So these are the fears that I faced after going through this Chinese New Year, what is yours? Drop a comment!
