Always By Your Side

Pretty dope yeah? A lovely Sunday I would say, pretty weather, nice companion with such a memorable event. I used to catch up with stuff. You know those, "Hey, catch up soon!". That kind of catch up. But lately...it's all work catching up with me and me caught in that. *Hey, hey, I'm not complaining here k?!*

So it was nice to actually have some time off, doing something still pretty much related to my work, but doing different parts of it. So yah, Volkswagen invited bloggers to join them for convoy and I was like, "why not, but little do I know that...I am actually catching up with the legends"

It's a Beetle convoy where 22 of classic Beetles all gathered up and going somewhere. Now, now...this all are old boys yah, show some love!

Oldest one coming for the convoy, he is 58 years old. Yes, all the way from 1957...he is plain, but he is simply pretty. (The green boy!)

Event start around 2 pm, I was one of the earliest to arrive, did not know what to do, what to snap, what to see or what to expect. But when one by one of these legends come and park themselves at the showroom parking, I know it's pretty much gonna be a good day. All i did was went out and look, little I remember that I have two cameras with me to snap all these. *pretty dumb, yes*

Hey here is another shot of the oldest among the gang, and you can actually notice, his back part? pretty different with the others! Like I say, he was plain, simply pretty.

Moving on, we move up to Damai Central at about 3 pm, you can guess by now, when you are riding with these, you are expecting hell lotsa pairs of eyes and also cameras on you, Kuching people do not see this very often kayy!

I did have some photos when we are moving, but yahhh, its pretty crappy, so NOPE! So we heads to our OLD DUN for group photos, car is dope looking, but the sky is not so friendly...

Now you know why I say the sky is not so nice, the background, uiiihhh...spoil betul!, but the car still nice, car still nice.

Owh yes, there is also Volkswagen Kombi, one of the rarest of its kind, some more in Kuching! I am one lucky one, I get to touch one *too much drama, too much*

I did not edit the photos, nice say nice, not nice do not say anything, thankiuuu..Right, group photo (right on the bottom part)!

Right after OLD DUN, we move straight to Damai Central where the Canon actually held their shooting competition, where photographers from Kuching actually came up to have their photography skills to be put to test, and actually there are quite numbers of them! Owh yes, they do have a model to be shot as well, I do not want to say, but well, its pretty much like flies swarming on...you get the idea...

But one thing i really gotta give it up to the photographers, their effort, their passion, under hot sun like that, you only see me chilling we beers, *I am not kidding you*!

And you thought I am kidding, well, I told myself, after the sun sets, I will definitely grab some photos with the car, which well, I really did!

The one on show was Beetle (Bug Edition, Beetle, 1957 Beetle and the Volkswagen Kombi, all is best at its class I believe! Hence that pretty much wrapped up the day time, although it was quite hot and couple of us waited for quite sometime, but during dinner time, well..complaints kinda dropped as well. So yeah...dinner!

But when we were on our way back, we were with Sharon, a Volkswagen representative, she did share quite a few interesting information about their cars, which is of course before I fell asleep, half way I suppose. These are the one that I remember:

1) Volkswagen did not stand out at their design, but design cannot guarantee your life, safety can.
2) 15,000 km, your first service and after, pretty long for a car!
3) Volkswagen's car is actually not all are expensive. They are not BMW or Mercedes
4) People wow for their price vs performance

Hence I replied back with, "I remember during Uni-time, when I was writing some assignment, I did put Volkswagen into my reference, and it sounded like this, if you gonna be in an accident, you better be in a Volkswagen."

It was a good Sunday...
