What about those non-Muslims?
It is the berbuka time that we are all been waiting for. *no offense, but that's rather the truth*
And the first *THANK GOD* invitation came from Merdeka Palace hotel & suites. They were kind enough to give two of us slots to taste their food, hence here I strongly believe, NO Malaysian would say No to free food, *unless its from a stranger*
More than 100 varities, dari national sehingga international! Of course I am too busy eating then I might not get all of their pictures, but here are some of my recommendations!
Spit Roasted Whole Lamb, Yes, ladies and gentlemen, WHOLE LAMB, I kid u not, that's the entire lamb there in the picture! The moment host took me to the dining area, that's the first thing I took a picture of, the WHOLE FRIGGIN LAMB! *alright, that's a little too much*
So, all I was waiting for, was just that. Right after all the formalities which needed to be done is done, without waiting, as fast as a flash, I grabbed my plate and head straight to the lamb stall.
Sorry for the phone quality image, but this is what my first plate look like. Pasta, beef, sayur keladi, nasi kambing and the LAMB! Let me go through one by one
Pasta - I love the cheesy taste of it, I am a person who really really loves cheese, like how Romeo loves Juliet that kinda love. *a lil corny, but nevermind*. So, pasta that is enrich with heavy cheese all together, its...just mouth watering. TRUE!
Beef - A dish that it would never go wrong when it's cooked, the Malay way. What I mean is, you would never go to a Malay friend house and eat their beef and goes, "man...my Chinese aunty's beef taste better!" True enough, it looked solid and hard to swallow at the first glance, but man! The moment it enters your mouth, and a gentle crush using your teeth, the entire thing went all over your mouth in pieces!
Sayur keladi - I am not very sure on how the chef prepare this dish, but I would say only one comment! Setaraf mak saya, and my mom is setaraf Gordon, MY opinion!
Nasi Kambing and the LAMB - I actually went all with the rest of the food that I mentioned on top before I took the nasi and the lamb, because I wanted to have my own ways of marking the Signature dish. And here goes, I took a bite of the original piece, where I did not mixed it with anything else, just the meat, and true enough, it came out as I expect it to be, roasted just right, and the very original lamb taste is there, I hope you know what I am talking about, the very heavy, unique and some say lamb-smell kinda taste went all over my tongue *you should see my face when I eat* and that I really give credit to the Signature dish. I might be different from others, for others might want it to taste like something else, but for me, original taste of lamb, it is just heavenly!
That is my second plate, Roti John, fried vegetables, Japanese tauhu and char kueh. right on top TEH TARIK!
When I took the roti john into my plate, I was not expecting much, nothing much as compare to the street's Roti John. I have not tasted many Roti John's outside, but the one in the picture, its pretty good. Like I say, I have not taste plenty of Roti John, hence, here I have not much comment. *smiley face*
Fried vegetables and Japanese tauhu I would say, its pretty well done, nothing extra ordinary, nothing that I would say its out of this world, but one thing which is good enough is...I felt like eating at home. I bet you guys know the feeling of eating at home right? Sorry, I meant for those who do not stay with parents, and staying alone...that taste when you are eating at home. Yah...that!
Then, the Char Kueh, uhh...this, when I have it in my mouth, I straight away turn to the organizer and ask, "who is the chef that makes this?!". Well, obviously its at Merdeka Palace right, but it got me quite good, but the bad thing for me was, too many people wants it, hence you gotta wait for quite sometime to have your Char Kueh, I would say not very Chinese, but the taste, its just special, as in Good Special, not the either kind of special yah.
And so you can refer to the pictures for all the good food, there are plenty more that which I took, it was good but it was not in here, hence the photos will show you the varieties, I believe there are also some which I did not managed to capture, pendek cakap, for RM78 nett per adult while children (4-12 years old) and senior citizen (60 years old and above) will enjoy a great 50% off, you and your family could enjoy all these great food! Apalagi?
