This post might be in different parts, but will try to go in more details from what I remember of the trip, I really wanna make this count, for I wanna be paid to travel in near future *dreams*
Day 1:
We actually started out our journey in Kuala Lumpur first, during the day, but let's do not count that, and let's go for Phuket straight! Reaching Phuket about 5 something local time was considered quite late for we are not gonna stay very long at the island, just 4 days 3 nights. So without wasting time, we head straight to hotel to drop all our luggage and go straight according to plan, which is to their night market, that opens during weekend only according to the locals. Distant, is about half an hour taxi ride from Patong Beach (where we stay)
When we enter, this is basically what we saw, plenty of shirts, singlets, dresses, pants, attires lahh, sunglasses, and also some other body decorations stuff, pretty packed I would say. But the stuffs there are pretty cheap, singlets are like 100 baht for a piece (please convert according to your own currency when you read this, lol). So we continue walking into the market, we see more of the same thing that we saw when we came out, price u still pretty cheap I would say!
Then we came to the food section, the place I would say, the spot that I am really looking forward for since I hop on the plane. So the moment that I reached the food section, I went all *eyes shinny shinny* like little kids saw toys display. So the picture underneath is the first stall that we stopped at. This stall is selling all sorts of pickle, I say pickle cause it's all sour and spicy, I know pickle is suppose to only perhaps taste sour, but this is Thailand that we are talking about! We have choices of so many, from mango all the way to fruits I do not even know what it is! But I can tell you what these pickles are good for! APPETIZER! Cause when all the spiciness and sourness enter the mouth, saliva came gushing out and all of a sudden you felt like eating the entire place's food. Hence we continue with walking around the market.
As you can see through all the pictures, all sorts of food are served at the market, from fish, roast duck, steam pork, noodles, fried rice, likes literally like, you name it, they have it! And for me, first thing that I saw was Muslim friend selling noodle next to a stall selling pork rice with beer, and judging by the way that we are communicating with each other, it seems to be like a really friendly business neighbors. RESPECT!
More shirts when we walked around
This is one concept which I am quite impressed, a mobile bar, mobile here does not mean that it is moving around the market serving beer, no...but there is a mobile that has been turned into a bar to served alcohol for those in need to quench the thirst. Price is pretty reasonable too! and since my last view post was about Volkwagen car, so here is a COMBI BAR! Yes, they convert a combi into a bar, and I would really say, it is pretty cute!
The stops happen when we finally came to this stall. With no name, two aunties serving, dipping noodles, bee hoon or kueh tiao into the boiling water and busy chopping meats and ingredients, I ordered of whatever they have and I sat down, and this was served to me within 8 minutes roughly. It look delicious already from the first view, why? Because the pork is already on top, which already topped what I am expecting. When I tasted the soup, it was not as spicy as I thought it would be, so I grabbed the nearest chilly powder and spread 2 small scoops all over the soup, and then the sweating moment starts. and out of 10? I would give this 9/10! Definitely must try!
And the typical me with beer early early in my hand, hello Chang!
And we did continue walking around the market for quite sometime, but since I took a little longer time to finish enjoying the food, stalls were slowly closing and many of them are packing and wrapping up, owh, they ends at about 11. So we hop onto a tuk-tuk, a kind of taxi which only Thailand got it so we went back to Patong Beach. and the next destination, Bangla Walking Street! Where the night life gets better, where the old become young again, where drunkards get drunker and it is also plenty of men who turns women here, trust me! With no doubt, this can be the Sin Street easily.
And needless to say, there were plenty of promoters, guys, girls, ang moh (white folks), local and others trying their very hard to get you into their clubs/pubs/outlets and so on, so they would tell you so many things including things you do not know, till things you know. And we were stopped by an ang moh which we got attracted to 500 baht to 3 hours of unlimited alcohol. FREE FLOW! Me being me, this is a no wait, we proceed straight inside, time? 1130, its about till 230 where we would end our day one!
It is the Tiger Club by the way, although the Tiger statues, pillars and all where very attractively ferocious, but the mascot that is walking around seem pretty happy and high. Right after we finish drinking about 3 am, we call it a night...end of DAY ONE
