Waking up to a view where you can see lovely buildings and shops facing the sea is maybe what some would die for, like mentioned, to live...is to explore.
Day 2:
Although after heavy drinking on the first night, I am still going strong on the second day, thou shall not waste a minute. So on the second day, we wanted to rent a car to go around Phuket, a buddy once mentioned, riding motorcycle around in Phuket to discover your own destination is a must do, but we ended up in a car, simply because there are 4 of us. So we asked for a price, we were given a Yaris at 1400 baht, consider pretty cheap for a car to go around entire day, but than an uncle asked where do we wanna go? We told him hot spots like the Big Buddha, the temples and so on, so the uncle say offered us 1200 baht to take us around with his own car and he say, its cheaper that way so we do not have to bare the gasoline, without thinking twice, we get on his car and went around. A very nice man indeed. Hence the breathe taking Big Buddha photos.
But this is a photo that I would not want to hide from anyone, underneath is a photo that you can see and search on the internet, for they would not want to let you see what is in front of the statue, but my photo shows the construction zone. Personally think that, nothing to hide really, they are really making it a better place for tourist, for that construction is to build a staircase which would make the Big Buddha looks even better! Few more years perhaps as they would need donation from people to finish constructing the entire thing, so maybe when you are there, do drop some!
A row of Buddha's statues with donation bowl in front.
A lovely cat who does not care, who needs a sleep badly
Of course there are other Buddha statues around the Big one, which I have no idea why so too, but I did found out something special about the statues behind the Big one, there are Buddhas being classified into days!
These here, they are being put into Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday(AM and PM), and the rest of the week, in different pose, each of them!
I kid you not, there the Saturday Buddha!
And this is what you can see frrom on top, hehhh! Pretty cool eh?
So right after we are done with the Big Buddha, driver uncle takes us to a very nearby shooting range, where you have plenty of different pistols and rifles to pick from to have a shoot, the other friend try out but I did not, for I used to train before hence, it does not felt right to pay to play *lol, cheapskate*
Moving on! About 10 minutes after at the shooting range, we were taken to the biggest temple around, I did not obtain much information about these temples, at the same time, being a Catholic, I did not want to learn much too, just good enough to have a look at it and know people's culture. But one thing I must say, the temple's construction is pretty nice, with all the very detail craving, shapes and patterns, I must say, they have one extra strong faith and effort in building such a nice building!
And as for this tower here, you can actually go inside and have a look, inside there are also plenty of Buddha statues, in different pose as well, and also paintings with Thai wordings which I assume it is telling stories of when Buddha was man. But there is one more thing in this tower that other buildings do not have.
This is the one thing that they do not have in other buildings, in Chinese it is call, 'Sze Li Zhi', which the believers believe after they cremate their monks, they will get this stone-like thing (in different shape and colors!) They cremate all their monks, yes, but not all the monks would have this 'Zhi', only the very highly trained/level or whatever it is called monks, like the abbot for the temple would have this 'Zhi'
Day 2, part b coming up in the next post!
